Gameplay Engineer - Lake Forest, CA

We are looking for an experienced Gameplay Engineer to be a part of our development team. This role is a perfect blend of creative and programming where you will work with our engineers, designers and artists to tackle the challenges of creating, implementing and optimizing new systems and tools for our exciting upcoming project!
Responsibilities
- Support level and mission designers by authoring systems and content used to create dynamic worlds
- Work with an interdisciplinary agile team of designers, artists and programmers to design, prototype, and implement new gameplay features
- Write core systems that will form the basis of the gameplay experience
- Figure out how to use existing technology to achieve new and unique game features
- Profile and optimize code to meet memory and CPU budgets
Requirements
- A strong interest in game design and creating an awesome player experience
- 3-5 years of professional game programming experience
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under deadlines
- Shipped at least one AAA title as a gameplay programmer
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Microsoft Visual Studio
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Solid math skills
Preferences
- Animation and network experience is a big plus
- Experience with UE4 or UE5
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering
