Job Summary

 

 As part of the Allstate Tow & Storage Negotiation Team, you will play a vital role to ensure we deliver on our promise to help restore people's lives after they experience a loss. You will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, settling invoices, and moving vehicles being stored at towing/storage facilities or repair shops. You will research, evaluate, and negotiate towing/storage costs associated with the claim to the best of your ability, while working directly with customers, shops, towing and/or storage facilities in a caring and professional manner, with our end goal of equitable settlements. You will be challenged to manage multiple claims simultaneously, document every step of activity for each claim and potentially draft/send correspondence letters.  You may also be required to handle different markets/territories.  Your success will be rewarded with our Total Rewards package which includes base pay, benefits, and opportunities for career advancement.

Key Responsibilities

 

Investigating, evaluating, negotiating, settling invoices, and moving vehicles being stored at towing/storage facilities or repair shops.
Work directly with customers, shops, towing and/or storage facilities in a caring and professional manner, with our end goal of equitable settlements.
Resolve related highly complex conflicts or issues.
Working well with others in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. 
Applying advanced knowledge of claim processes, policies, state laws, procedures, claim systems, coverage, liability, damage estimating, and/or settlement, and adherence to applicable legal compliance standards.
Achieving targeted performance goals to manage costs and support Allstate's industry-leading operational standards.

 

Customer Service
Makes and maintains a connection with the customer by understanding and meeting their needs; serves the customer with empathy; and follows up to ensure that customer needs have been met. Using compassionate communication and persuasive negotiation to ensure a positive customer experience.  Working well with others in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.  Achieving targeted performance goals to manage costs and support Allstate's industry-leading operational standards.

 

File Documentation and Reporting
Summarizes documents and enters them into claim system notes
Documents a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision making process 
Draft/send correspondence letters

 

Providing Authorization
Reviews, reconciles and/or approves payments to towing/storage facilities
Determines valuation of tow/storage invoices and provides authorization for payment to secure release

 

Negotiation and Settlement Guidance
Negotiates and settles invoices in accordance with business unit best practices 

Work Location

 

This position is a remote home-based role.  Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is not available for California, Alaska, and Hawaii residents.


When you work from home full time, you’ll need: 

  • a dedicated workspace in your residence that is private and free from distractions
  • a minimum internet bandwidth of 50 MB down/5 MB up 
  • appropriate work surface and seating  


What will Allstate provide? 

  • A technology bundle that includes all equipment needed to perform your work from home (laptop, monitors, headset, keyboard, mouse) 
  • Connectivity reimbursement of $80 per month to offset some of the cost of internet

Preferred Qualifications

 

Our ideal candidate has prior experience handling towing/storage disputes, claims experience, auto technical skills, and a complete understanding of claims investigations.  We look for excellent communication, organizational, negotiation and time management skills as well as outstanding customer service skills.  Candidates should be proficient in Internet usage, Windows 2000, Microsoft Word, and Excel.  Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.


•    Prior experience handling towing/storage disputes 24 months preferred
•    Strong negotiation skills
•    Are known for clear and professional communication – both written and verbal 
•    Is highly motivated, organized, and enjoys teamwork
•    Ability to investigate, evaluate and settle highly complex claims
•    Ability to interact effectively with internal or external customers and act with empathy
•    Has knowledge of insurance policy, coverage, and possibly regulation
•    Has knowledge of claim processes, policies, procedures, claim systems, coverage, liability, damage estimating, and/or settlement, and adherence to applicable legal compliance standards
•    View problems and setbacks as opportunities for improvement and look forward to coming up with creative solutions 
•    Capable of working independently, making decisions within authority, and resolving conflicts
•    Are organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment  
•    Being bilingual and/or having prior military experience is a plus 

Notice of Licensing Requirement

 

  • As a condition of employment, you may be expected to obtain an adjuster’s license in multiple markets
  • All required licenses will need to be obtained within 60 days of hire
  • You must maintain all licensing required for your role. This includes any continuing education and/or other state-affiliated requirements for licensing renewal
  • This role offers a $1,000 sign on bonus if you have an active appraiser license or active adjuster license in TX, FL, or your resident state (current employees and candidates who have previously worked for and are seeking to be rehired at Allstate and its family of companies are not eligible for this sign-on bonus)

Compensation offered for this role is $59,250.00-$96,937.50 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
